Buying steel angles may not be the most complicated thing to do, but there are a few factors that can ensure you get the right material for your work. Let us help you buy steel angles through this easy and brief buying guide.

What types of angles are there?

All steel angles are L-shaped represented by the dimension of thickness and sides. For instance, 70x70x10 means, both the sides of angles are 70mm & thickness is 10mm.

  • Equal Angles – They are angles having both the sides of equal dimensions. For instance, see the given diagram, in which both the sides are of dimensions 30mm.

  • Unequal Angles – They are angles with different side dimensions. For instance, see the given diagram in which the sides are of “30mm” & “40mm”.

Generally, Steel and Stainless Steel is used for construction purpose.

General Use of Steel Angles

They are used broadly, from major construction work to home renovation, but they fall into several broad categories.

  • Reinforcement: Steel angles can be used as braces in order to fortify structures. The structures can be as big as a skyscraper, or as small as the corner of a table. Using angles in the corners of a structure enhances the structure’s load-bearing capacity and longevity.
  • Support: In order to give support to a structure, angles can be used as brackets. Their main purpose is to provide a platform for shelving. Steel angles make up the framework for common things like beds, factory machines etc.

Steel angle bars are used for engineering structures, industrial tools, machinery parts, bridges, fabrication, reaction tower, building construction etc. There are two ways to process angle bars which are cold rolled and hot rolled. The only difference between these two types of angles is that the cold rolled one is smoother and hot rolled bar is the right angle with sharp edges. OfBusiness offers all types of steel, stainless-steel bars, aluminium bars etc. across India.
